You may be aware that currency exchange rates have fluctuatd significantly over the last few years. The Adobe email states: “As part of doing business globally, Adobe monitors currency exchange rates in order to make adjustments to our pricing up or down as needed. The email above was sent to leading street photographer, Matt Hart, who is a subscriber to the Photography Plan. We will update this post with their comments once we receive them. We’ve asked representatives at Adobe for comment on the move, and at the time of writing we have not heard back. This would seemingly be a result of the UK’s Brexit vote last year, after which the value of the pound fell to 30-year lows.
Currently the Adobe Photography Plan is £102.30 per annum, or £8.57 per month. Here's what my site published about the situation this afternoon, in an effort to help clarify:Īctually, Adobe’s $9.99/mo. In any event, I definitely agree it should be optional (as before). True enough that a lot of customers may not need or want to pay for that extra 1 TB of storage, but some do.
plan isn't actually increasing the price, but rather a bundling together of the original $9.99 plan together with a $9.99 1 TB storage upgrade. I haven't seen anything anywhere, including from any Adobe representative, indicating the longstanding $9.99/month plan would no longer being offered or its price raised. The only language to that effect is unconfirmed speculation from those blog authors.
There's nothing from Adobe saying they are phasing out the $9.99 plan, or doubling its price.
